The firm’s investment strategy aligns with Temasek’s ABC Framework for an Active Economy, a Beautiful Society and a Clean Earth, building on the ideals of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Key focus areas for us include financial and digital inclusion; better health and education; climate and water solutions; and sustainable food and agriculture.

ABC Impact is a division of Temasek Trust Asset Management. Established in 2019, our founding investors are Temasek Trust, Temasek, Pavilion Capital, Mapletree Investments, Seatown Holdings, SP Group, and Sembcorp Industries.

Earlier this month, the ABC Impact team and Temasek Trust Asset Management had the wonderful opportunity to join our friends at Temasek Foundation for a day of learning and volunteering with two dynamic sustainability-focused social enterprises in Singapore: City Sprouts and Cloop.

🌿 City Sprouts breathes new life into urban spaces and develops impactful educational programs, bringing together communities to drive awareness and action on social and environmental issues.

♻️ Cloop is on a mission to extend the life cycle of fashion apparel through local recirculation. Partnering with an ISO-accredited recycler, they have set up over 400 textile recycling bins across Singapore, promoting #reuse, #upcycling, and #recycling for textiles and apparel in any condition.

Spending the day with these passionate social entrepreneurs was a powerful reminder of the impact we can achieve when we come together with a shared mission. Their dedication to making a difference in our environment and society reaffirms our commitment to impact investing and environmental stewardship. We left inspired, motivated, and ready to continue investing towards a brighter, more sustainable future for all.

Family Offices: Critical Catalysts for Impact and Change

In May 2024, the Sustainable Finance Initiative (SFI) hosted the
#AsianFamilyImpactSummit in Hong Kong, bringing together #purpose-driven leaders to share candid stories and concrete examples.

Sugandhi Matta, ABC Impact's Chief Impact Officer, spoke about the vast potential of India's #nexthalfbillion - the #emergingmiddleclass in #India, comprising the next 500 million people who are transitioning from low-income to middle-income status. This segment represents a significant opportunity for impact at scale. Highlighting our key investment themes and case studies, Sugandhi shared our experience generating impact in India across the education, healthcare, and agri-tech segments.

It was encouraging to see the strong interest and alignment of Family Offices with the mission of #investingwithpurpose. Family Offices have a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in impact investing. With their #patientcapital and strategic vision, they can drive investments that not only yield financial returns but also generate substantial #socialimpact.
