At the recent Property Leaders' Summit by the Property Council of Australia, Denise Wu, CFA, Senior Vice President for Real Estate discussed GIC's outlook on and approach to the Australian real estate market. She shared that Australia continues to be a key market and that the team remains focused on capturing good, risk-adjusted opportunities, such as those in tailwind sectors. She added that GIC’s local presence, long investment horizon, and strong partnerships are key to achieving this.

Last week, GIC’s Technology Investment Group held a Bridge Forum Connects dinner in Singapore, co-hosted with Sardine. In a recent interview with The Straits Times, Tzu Mi Liew, Chair of the Sustainability Committee and CIO for Fixed Income and Multi Asset at GIC shared the firm’s progress on sustainability as it remains anchored in its focus – the decarbonisation of the real economy.

We also shared how GIC’s sustainability portfolios – the Sustainability Solutions Group in private equity, the Climate Change Opportunities Portfolio in public equities, and the Transition and Sustainable Finance Group in fixed income – are investing in the transition and contributing to the next stage of GIC’s sustainability journey. 

Over the years, GIC has stepped up efforts to capture sustainability-related investment opportunities across the portfolio. Our initial efforts have now evolved into bigger portfolios across public and private markets, with dedicated teams and capital to deploy.
