Good Morning World 🌍 After a weekend reflecting on how good my previous weeks business trip to Singapore was, i decided to do a little research on SGP and APAC as the Countrys history and short years of independence intrigued me! I have spent most of my 20s living in the East with most of them being developing countries and spent the past 14 months in places like Vietnam,Thailand,Bali, Jakarta, So to go to SGP it really was a shock to my system to see how developed the amazing Country is compared the to the rest of the APAC region at present. However, for such a developed country, after doing some of the research i realised that they are very much still behind on all things Cyber Security and that there is an estimated shortage of 4,000 cyber professionals in Singapore, and that gap grows to 2.7 million in Asia Pacific as a whole. This can have a severe impact on the future of business not only in SGP,Asia but also around the globe. So what is the reason? What is the answer? Why is there such a lack of resources at the moment? Luckily at Cyberbay , even for a company being 2.5 years old, We have such a large pool of Ethical-Hackers at our disposal, which have been recruited and trained immensely to help these business that are at risk everyday and that are unable to find the Security specialists that are much sought after in the APAC and Singapore region. BugHunting Campaign 2024 Awards Gala: A Celebration of Cybersecurity Excellence Last week, the BugHunting Campaign 2024 Awards Gala took place, celebrating the achievements of the BugHunting Campaign and highlighting our continued collaboration with the police for the second consecutive year. This partnership has significantly enhanced corporate cybersecurity awareness, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Cyber Security and Technology Crime Bureau (CSTCB) Hong Kong Police Force , our co-organizer, and Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data, Hong Kong (PCPD) 香港個人資料私隱專員公署 , our strategic partner. Their invaluable support has been instrumental in making this event a success. Despite a 1.5x increase in cybersecurity demand in Hong Kong, talent growth hasn't kept pace. However, our integration of AI technology has significantly boosted vulnerability detection. This year, our new AI Spy scanned the dark web, issuing over 2,100 alerts, with 200+ classified as high-risk—enabling companies to address vulnerabilities proactively. In total, we identified 91 vulnerabilities, with critical issues needing urgent attention. We achieved a remarkable reduction in the average resolution time from 3 days to just 1, and 47 companies resolved their vulnerabilities within 60 days, compared to the average 265 days in the industry. This year’s awardees demonstrated a proactive find-and-fix attitude, showcasing their commitment to strengthening cybersecurity defenses. Congratulations to all our BugHunting Digital Badge winners!
