Appointment of Dr. Yvonne Karamagi as Executive Director of Mildmay Uganda The Board and staff of Mildmay Uganda are pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Yvonne Karamagi as Executive Director of Mildmay Uganda. With more than 24 years of experience in public health, much of which has been within HIV and AIDS, Health Systems Strengthening, Health Program & Business Management, Clinical medicine, Capacity Building and Operations Research, Dr. Yvonne brings a unique set of skills, perspectives, and relationships to lead Mildmay Uganda into the future. Building on what we have already accomplished, under her leadership we hope to hone our strategic direction, grow, and develop our organization, strengthen our partnerships, and build new relationships. Dr. Yvonne’s previous positions include Medical Doctor; Director Medical Services for Mildmay Hospital Uganda, Deputy Executive Director of Mildmay Uganda; She has collaborated with multiple multi-level partnership and has worked with government, non-profit, education, and faith organizations. Dr. Yvonne holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBCHB), and a master’s degree in public health. She is a Global Research fellow in Child Mental health in HIV-impacted low-resource settings in developing countries with the Washington University of St. Louis and Makerere University. Dr. Yvonne succeeds Dr. Barbara Mukasa, who will continue to serve as Senior Advisor to facilitate a smooth transition for Dr. Yvonne and to provide support on specific projects as required. We are looking forward to beginning this new phase of Mildmay Uganda’s work under Dr. Yvonne’s leadership. Together, we continue on our impact journey of Communities Transformed for Sustainable Health.

We celebrate all efforts that have been invested in the fight against HIV/AIDS through the Ministry of Health, Development Partners, Health workers, and communities.
