South African soprano Pumeza Matshikiza, Royal College of Music alumna, returns to the RCM this week to perform Tippett’s A Child of our Time with the RCM Symphony Orchestra and Chorus. Pumeza studied at the RCM from 2004-2007, and has enjoyed an illustrious, international career since her College days, performing at many of the leading opera houses across Europe and the United States, as well as releasing two solo recordings with Decca. After a busy summer of performances including a world premiere of Jake Heggie’s ‘Good Morning, Beauty’ at the Barbican for Classic Pride UK, we're thrilled to be welcoming Pumeza back to the Royal College of Music this week. She'll be performing alongside fellow RCM alumni Zwakele Tshabalala and Jonathan Lemalu, and RCM student Lily Mo Browne.
