Can farmers use BSF for waste management? 🦟🦗

Farmers can use the BSF to reduce the high volumes of agricultural waste. BSFL can convert various agricultural waste streams into multiple end products. For example, organic fruit/vegetable farmers can feed on the waste stream from their sites and then feed those BSFL to chickens for the human food chain. Utilising BSF farming on farm can help bring down the costs for the farmer and their carbon footprint instead of having to outsource waste disposal and or feed ingredients from an external service.

📢 HOW TO REAR BSF - PART 2 - THE OPTIMAL ENVIRONMENT 📢

The first thing when considering raising BSF eggs is the environment you will house them in. You will need a room or space with 24 hours of darkness, good ventilation, and electricity along with access to a fresh water supply is recommended for the feed preparation and the filling of the humidifier.
A water spray bottle with mist nozzle can be useful if you expect to have a drier environment as the first meal can lose moisture faster (may not be required if humidity and feed moisture are stable). It is a good idea to have a sturdy surface for your tray to be placed on in the space of choice.
