We have an exciting new role as #ResearchAdministrator , working within our Research Faculty Office to support the ELIXIR-UK Coordination Office. The ELIXIR-UK coordination office is essential for developing and maintaining engagement of ELIXIR within the UK community. To support cutting-edge bioscience research and innovation, Professor Anne Ferguson-Smith, Executive Chair for BBSRC, has launched a new major bioscience consultation. This marks a crucial step in reviewing the Forward Look for UK Bioscience which acts as a guiding framework, shaping BBSRC's actions and investments. As part of the launch, Professor Ferguson-Smith is calling on members of the UK bioscience ecosystem to contribute to its success. She said: "I am thrilled to launch this consultation, which puts the UK’s vibrant bioscience community at its very heart. "BBSRC’s future priorities must reflect the needs and aspirations of the community it serves. We will achieve this by drawing upon our collective experiences and insights to create a shared roadmap for the future. "Our shared roadmap will unleash scientific discovery and innovation to address some of the most complex challenges facing global society, driving economic growth and fundamentally improving the quality of life for all." For stakeholders, the community consultation is an opportunity to have a say on bioscience research and innovation themes, including: 🟢 New approaches and breakthroughs in bioscience 🟢 Emerging and advancing technologies 🟢 Interdisciplinary collaboration, connectivity and partnerships 🟢 Societal, environmental and economic challenge areas 🟢 Current and future priorities 🟢 Barriers to progress 🟢 Working with BBSRC The consultation is open until 20 September 2024, and the feedback will be analysed in collaboration with our Strategy Advisory Panels and Council.
