Our CLEAR Elective Recovery Programme is supporting the transformation of elective trauma and orthopaedic services to enhance capacity and cut waiting times at James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust– with improvements to theatre utilisation already seen. 

This work was commissioned by NHS England to support delivery of the NHS elective recovery plan which aims to reduce waiting lists for elective care.

We’re hosting the next webinar of our CLEAR Impact series on Monday 22 July, 13:00 – 14:00, where we’ll explore our #electiverecovery project at James Paget University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust focusing on improving their elective trauma and #orthopaedic services.

Facing theatre capacity issues with a high number of frail older patients with complex needs, the CLEAR team analysed clinical insights and activity data, and made practical recommendations for improvements including seven-day #physiotherapy for quicker discharge, #electivecare coordinators for early identification of patients at risk of late cancellation, and theatre improvement leads for more efficient workflow.

This work is part of our CLEAR elective recovery programme commissioned by NHS England to support delivery of the NHS elective recovery plan which aims to increase capacity and cut waiting lists for elective care.

Clinicians from trust and project team will discuss the challenges they faced, how they navigated the CLEAR methodology and projected impacts.

Exciting day for the #CLEAR programme! We’re kicking off the core learning module of our #leadership and #transformation programme for consultants at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust         – delivered in partnership with the Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management (FMLM).

Comprising interactive workshops, coaching, mentoring and participation in live transformation projects aligned to priority areas, the programme will support consultants to deliver tangible improvements to patient care, shape services and become future clinical leaders.

Opportunity to co-design and pilot CLEAR’s AI-powered clinical notes summary tool
 
The National CLEAR Programme is delighted to be announcing the launch of a seven-month AI pilot which is open to seven NHS trusts across England.
 
It follows the programme’s development of a new clinically-designed AI powered patient consultation summary tool which can transform workforce productivity enabling more time for patients.
 
Expressions of interest are now being sought for the pilot which offers seven NHS trusts (one per region) to become early adopters and co-designers of the tool within pre-operative assessment (anaesthetics). 
 
Two webinars providing further information are being held on Wednesday 29 May and Tuesday 4 June 2024. The deadline for expressions of interest is the 5pm on Monday 17 June.

A big well done to Healthier South Wirral PCN which recently opened a new healthcheck hub to support people to reduce their risk of cardiovascular disease (#CVD) – all designed and implemented by front line clinicians and managers with #CLEAR support.

The service invites residents to complete an #NHSHealthcheck and lifestyle assessment at a library-based hub in the heart of the community - and makes referrals for further tests if needed. 

The aim is to support people  - particularly those in hard-to-reach areas - to lead healthier, longer lives.

The work is part of our NHS England commissioned CLEAR Living Well programme to support the design, spread and implementation of new models of care for the prevention of CVD, which is one of the biggest causes of avoidable deaths in the country.
