DON’T purchase contact lenses from stores that do not require you to have a prescription. DON’T use tap water on your contact lenses. Only use approved contact lens solutions. DON’T sleep in your contact lenses. DO consult your eyecare professional when purchasing contact lenses. DO wear your contact lenses as directed by the manufacturer. DO handle your contact lenses with clean/sanitised hands. REMEMBER, even if your contact lenses are for cosmetic use only, you still need a valid prescription! Last weekend Teresa Cataldo , Phil Tansley , Garth Barnard , a couple of randoms (see below!🫣) and I, represented Cantor & Nissel Ltd at the #HSOC2024 in Manchester. We had a great weekend catching up with so many old faces and meeting lots of new ones at such a well-run event, with an amazing view of Old Trafford Cricket Ground. One thing Eyecare professionals explain when dispensing lenses to their patients are the risks associated with using contaminated water with contact lenses. At Cantor & Nissel, we like to educate our customers that wearing contact lenes and the direct exposure of contact lenses to non-sterile water sources (e.g. tap water, bathing, showering, swimming, participating in waters sports etc.) severely increases the risk of microbial infection and permanent eye damage. These risks are summarised and explained in our IFU which is sent out with every order, and should be explained by your Eye Care Professional. Want to read more?
