We have made great progress against the sustainability commitments outlined in our deCarbon strategy, which is helping us plan to meet net zero carbon emissions by 2040. Efforts across the business have resulted in improvements in energy efficiency and for the first time this year, we reported full coverage across Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions categories. Today we’ve published our 2024 Annual Report, with the business making excellent progress against its strategic objectives. Rental income over the period increased 3%, as we continued to refurbish and reposition our portfolio, resulting in particularly strong performances from our Residential, Retail and Healthcare sectors. It has been a strong year of new lettings as we continue to cater for evolving customer demands, ensuring we meet their needs both now and in the future. deCarbon, our sustainability strategy was launched in October 2023, setting out our priorities designed to ensure the Group achieves its net zero objective by 2040. Good progress has been made to date with a positive reduction in carbon across a range of emission sources, including our head office, travel activities and landlord areas within the managed portfolio. Despite the challenging macroeconomic backdrop, we remain resilient and continue to foster an environment where Marylebone can thrive, strengthening the community through our stewardship, service, and distinctive offerings. This prestigious recognition celebrates Beck’s pioneering contributions to medicine, saving countless lives and advancing the treatment of head injuries and neurological conditions. The plaque, mounted at the site of her former home and consulting rooms, serves as a reminder of her extraordinary achievements. The unveiling ceremony brought together professionals from the medical community and some of her family to pay tribute to her lasting impact on neurosurgery and the broader field of medicine.
