Hometree is a home energy services company on a mission to accelerate the transition to net zero. By fixing, installing and financing home energy hardware, we're helping homeowners transition to low-carbon living, when they’re ready.

Heating is responsible for 14% of all greenhouse gas emissions in the UK. If we're serious about hitting those net zero goals to mitigate the climate emergency, we need to act. The transition has already begun but it’s a mammoth task and it won’t happen overnight. We know the challenges on the table – with soaring energy costs, expensive heat pumps and home infrastructure challenges, homeowners are left with many pressing questions - which option should I choose - heat pump or hydrogen boiler? ​A throwback to last Friday when we shared the news of our £250 million securitisation deal with Barclays – the first of it’s kind here in the UK to facilitate the installation of solar panels, batteries - and heat pumps for homeowners.

Congratulations to Hometree on securing an asset-backed debt facility for the UK’s first residential renewable securitisation: which further strengthens their ambition to decarbonise homes across Europe. Hometree intends to use proceeds to finance over 28,000 residential solar panel systems, batteries and heat pumps across the UK over the next two years. We were proud to help facilitate this transaction which is part of Barclays’ strategy to facilitate $1 trillion in green and sustainable finance by 2030, helping the UK economy reach #netzero.
