In-Space Missions

In-Space Missions is a wholly owned subsidiary of BAE Systems, Digital Intelligence. 
Founded in 2015, In-Space Missions is based in dedicated offices in Alton, Hampshire in the UK with purpose built, satellite cleanrooms. We design manufacture, integrate and test a range of satellites from 1U cubesats up to 150kg small satellites, providing full end-to-end capabilities to customers including payload development support; integration of payloads into the spacecraft; system testing; licensing; launch; commissioning; on-orbit operations; secure data delivery; and everything in-between.  We also offer ‘Space as a Service’ through our InSpace Digital service and the world’s first commercial service offering long-life, low-cost, hosted-payload and uploadable payload flight opportunities.

Last week, I had the pleasure of attending Farnborough International Airshow 2024 where I got to see all the amazing work of our incredibly talented BAE Systems Digital Intelligence team and wider business. 

Through our impressive stand, presentations and briefings, we demonstrated how we are at the forefront of multi-domain capabilities that enable our customers to unlock digital advantage. It was a brilliant few days, which involved hearing from our experts about everything from our work in space to develop Azalea, our dual-use multi-sensor satellite cluster, to how our Battlespace Management and Intelligence System (BMIS) is helping defence decision makers better understand demanding defence environments. 

While there are too many highlights to mention, what shone through was our skilled team’s dedication to our customers’ missions and, ultimately, keeping our nation and allies safe.
