So the Gasholder book launch has been and gone, so one last post as life returns to normal. A wonderful evening spent with National Grid in Montagu Evans beautiful offices with such a diverse range of people from the gas, consultancy, contracting, heritage, government and societies. It all whizzed past like a blur and there so many people I just did not get the time to speak to as much as I would have liked. It was great to have this opportunity through working at WSP in the UK to be involved. I'd like to thanks those who developed the idea, those who I worked with to make the book possible, the publishers Liverpool University Press (a real tea, effort) and those who attended and who have purchased the book. On October 24 Brandon Som was awarded the 2024 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry for his collection Tripas, published in the Georgia Review Books imprint at University of Georgia Press . Georgia Review editor Gerald Maa and I accompanied Brandon and his partner, the artist Janelle Iglesias, to the ceremony at Columbia University, where so many courageous and bold writers, composers, and journalists were honored. An unforgettable evening.
