It was great to see Hungarian Wine Marketing Agency Wines of Hungary’s sponsored feature in this months Decanter . It’s always important to keep banging the drum for Hungary’s wine regions and the great wines from Tokaj, Lake Balaton and Egre. We remain passionate for Hungarian wine, and it was very encouraging to have this feature alongside Gizella, Sabar, St Donat and many other Hungarian wines spotlighted making this month’s issue a great platform for the wines of Hungary. We were at the first ever The Ultimate CEE Wine Fair in London this week, and what a fantastic event it was! We can't say loud enough how important this new addition to the wine calendar is, as it showcases countries and regions that deserve to be much better known in the UK (basically our mission for the last 7 years!) Having so many producers and countries under one roof meant it was a voyage of discovery for some and gave us the chance to educate and share the wines of this special region. Bojt Winery, St Donat, Tokaj Nobilis, Csernus Winery, Tilia Estate, Ezimit Vino , Testament, Zlatan Otok and Iločki podrumi d.d. all featured on our table covering countries as diverse as Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia and North Macedonia. We were lucky enough to be helped out by Miha Istenic who grabbed the legendary Jancis Robinson for a quick snap. Ana from Chelti Winery • მეღვინეობა ჩელთი was there to evangelise about what great Saperavi should be (delicious for those that haven't tried it yet.) ❤️ We also had Laszlo Szilagyi there sampling the new Gizella Estate vintage alongside his stunning, Decanter Best in Show winning Aszu. The brilliant Imako Vino , exciting Kabola Winery were also in the room pouring more award winning wines.
