📢 New Legal Requirements to Combat Sexual Harassment in the Workplace As of October 26, 2024, the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act 2023 states that employers take "reasonable steps" to prevent sexual harassment in the workplace. This new legal obligation is a call to action for all employers to strengthen their commitment to a harassment-free environment. Key actions health and social care employers should take include: 🔍 Risk assessments – Understand and address factors like power imbalances, social media use, and third-party interactions. 📑 Policy updates – Ensure anti-harassment policies align with the new requirements. 🧑🏫 Mandatory training – Provide regular training to help employees identify and report harassment. 👩💼 Managerial training – Equip managers with the tools to handle complaints effectively and confidently. 🚫 Zero-tolerance – at work promote a culture of respect, diversity, and inclusion. 📞 Reporting mechanisms – Implement accessible, possibly anonymous, ways for employees to report harassment. 🚨Breaking news on CQC Registration for social care providers. Barry P. , our Content Operations and Delivery Manager at QCS, explains what this means for you and our customers. CQC is updating its registration process due to ongoing issues with its provider portal. Starting from 18 November, CQC will no longer accept new registration applications through the portal (except for cancellation applications). Instead, all applications will need to be submitted using the forms available on their website. This change aims to improve user experience and resolve the portal issues. 🔷What You Need to Know Your QCS System and you will be updated 😊 At QCS, we’re committed to staying aligned with the latest guidance from the CQC to avoid any confusion. We’re closely monitoring updates from CQC and will keep you informed of any changes that might impact you. 🔷The Registration Backlog We know the registration backlog has been frustrating.
