📢 New Hydrotherapy Study in Partnership with The Manchester Metropolitan University ! Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is partnering with Manchester Metropolitan University on an exciting new study funded by Duchenne UK . The research aims to provide essential evidence on the benefits of hydrotherapy for boys and young men with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), potentially enhancing mobility and overall quality of life. Led by our own Dr Christian de Goede, Consultant Paediatric Neurologist, and supported by Paediatric Research Physiotherapist Candiss Argent, this 24-month trial represents a key step forward in DMD care. The study hopes to show that hydrotherapy, though currently under-resourced, can play a meaningful role in improving the lives of patients.
