Will the CPP be there for Canadians when they retire? 

Yes! The Canada Pension Plan (CPP) is projected to be financially sustainable for at least the next 75 years. Every three years, the Office of the Chief Actuary of Canada, an independent federal body, evaluates the long-term financial sustainability of the CPP. 

Recently, Canada’s Chief Actuary, Assia Billig, joined the Rational Reminder Podcast to discuss the Canada Pension Plan and the rigorous process her office undertakes to determine its sustainability.

CPP Fund net assets totalled $646.8 billion at the end of fiscal Q1 2025, an increase of $14.4 billion from the previous quarter. 
 
The Fund’s quarterly results were driven primarily by investments in public equity and private asset classes, particularly in credit and U.S.-dollar denominated assets, which benefited from the strengthening U.S. dollar against Canadian currency.  https://lnkd.in/gKbs93aK
