We're thrilled to share this excellent piece by CBS Evening News about the partnership between The World Bank and Food Rescue US - DC to transfer surplus food from their cafeteria to agencies serving people facing food insecurity in DC. This initiative demonstrates the power of partnerships to make a real difference in caring for our communities while reducing waste and maximizing resources for a healthier planet.

Yesterday was an inspiring day of Food Rescues in South Florida! 1. Trader Joe's and Whole Foods Market surplus food donations went to a Liberty City pantry and a Little Haiti church and stocked a Community refrigerator in North Beach. 2. Sprouts Farmers Market went to Caring Place Shelter in Broward and to The Salvation Army of Miami-Dade County in Allapattah. 3. Prepared sandwiches and bowls went from Miami Beach Convention Center Sodexo Live! to a Cuban church in Hialeah. 4. Surplus trays of food from Miami Marlins and loanDepot park Levy Restaurants and Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel went to a homeless shelter meal service. 5. Another Trader Joe's went to a child and family care center in Little Havana. 6. And yet another Trader Joe's went to Stvincent Depaul Society in Weston. Thank you to our passionate and reliable volunteer food rescuers! With no trucks, no warehouse, no sorting, we deliver fresh, nutritious food every day to those in need. Using an app technology, we are totally transparent where and when it is delivered, how many pounds and the CO2 equivalent offset helping to reduce emissions and help our environment. One of the most common concerns we hear from potential food donors is the fear of liability—many worry about being sued if donated food unintentionally causes harm.
