Standing on the Shoulders of Giants This week, two researchers connected to Menten AI 's journey have been awarded Nobel Prizes—one in Chemistry and the other in Physics. Prof. David Baker, who received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, was a mentor to Menten AI 's co-founder Vikram K. Mulligan . Vikram spent six years in Prof. Baker's lab at the Institute for Protein Design, University of Washington , laying the foundation for expanding beyond nature's 20 canonical amino acids to design peptide macrocycles with unnatural building blocks. This work is at the core of what Menten AI does. Meanwhile, Prof. Geoffrey Hinton, awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics, was a professor to the other founder of Menten AI , Hans Melo , at the University of Toronto .
