VR has been around for awhile, so most people understand the broad parameters of what the technology can do. Over the past several years, we’ve seen many generations of headsets come into market with greater development in display technology, AI, and slowly haptic interfaces. The evolution of both the hardware and the software has paved the way for ever-increasing immersion as a stepping stone for AR.

👥 Today’s Reality: The merging of VR and AR
Today we’re starting to see the connectivity of the virtuality spectrum; the real and the virtual elements are intertwined and the resulting experiences transition seamlessly between these realities. With devices like the Vision Pro and its ability to render digital images seamlessly onto the real world, users experience an even greater telepresence with enhanced audiovisual immersion.

🌐 Tomorrow’s Reality: The future of immersion
Looking ahead, the evolving landscape of various realities will continue to push the boundaries and create new dimensions of interaction. Our panelists envision a future characterized by identity shifting and avatar-based communities, persistent and more robust MR as a continuum of experiences all the time, and an entirely redefined social network in which we engage with other people.
