In der Vox-Sendung 'Die Höhle der Löwen' stellt sich heute Abend einer unserer Kooperationspartner vor. Die Rede ist von peers.
 
Das Start-up peers hat eine Online-Plattform entwickelt, auf der sich insbesondere junge Menschen unkompliziert Hilfe bei psychischen Erkrankungen holen können. 
 
Mit unserer Gesellschaft Barmenia Next Strategies investieren wir in erfolgsversprechende Start-ups aus dem Gesundheitssektor. Damit unterstützen wir tolle Ideen, die die Zukunft positiv mitgestalten. 
 
Dass wir in peers investieren, hat mehrere Gründe:

Peers greift mit seinem Konzept eines der wichtigsten Themen unserer Zeit (und ich befürchte auch unserer Zukunft) auf: Seit Jahren steigt die Zahl der Jugendlichen mit Depressionen oder anderen psychischen Krankheiten kontinuierlich an, während Therapieplätze nach wie vor schwer zu bekommen sind.
 
Indem wir peers unterstützen, helfen wir dabei, diese Versorgungslücke zu schließen und gleichzeitig sorgen wir dafür, das Angebot für unsere Kundinnen und Kunden weiter auszubauen (unsere Krankheitskostenvollversicherten nutzen peers schon jetzt kostenfrei).
 
Und nicht zuletzt finde ich es toll, dass das wichtige Thema Psychische Erkrankungen durch peers heute Abend einen Primetime-Sendeplatz bekommt und damit ein wenig aus der Tabuzone gerückt wird.

💡 We are excited to announce that we have invested in HealthCaters, together with VENPACE, Dr. Philipp Götting and existing investor Dieter von Holtzbrinck Ventures, with a total funding amount of $ 1.2M. 

🍏 HealthCaters offers a low-threshold solution that allows a holistic self-service health screening within minutes. With their modern health cases and app, the startup collects valuable "hard data" to evaluate the users' individual risks and formulate preventative health measures.

🤝 At Barmenia Versicherungen, we have already witnessed the excitement and positive impact that the health screenings sparked for employees onsite. We look forward to seeing many more companies enable their employees to take health prevention into their own hands.
