🍁Here’s what's happened in Canadian early-stage venture this week🍁

Seed raises:
1️⃣ Leav closed $2.3M CAD. They make check out lines faster with their mobile scan-as-you-go platform. Investors in the round include Exo10, NEXT Canada, Dispatch Ventures and angels.

2️⃣ Friendlier closed $5M CAD. They help businesses transition from single-use plastic to reusable packaging solutions. Investors in the round include Relay Ventures and Garage Capital.

3️⃣ Terminal (YC S23) closed $3.1M USD. They’re building Plaid for telematics data. Investors in the round include Golden Ventures, Y Combinator, Wayfinder Ventures, Northside Ventures, McVestCo VC, and angels. 

4️⃣ Inverted AI closed over $4M USD. They make self driving cars safer. Investors in the round include Yaletown Partners, Blue Titan Ventures, Dasein Capital, Inovia Capital, Defined, and WUTIF Capital (VCC) Inc.

5️⃣ Woveo closed $2.3M CAD. They provide a community wallet as a service. Investors in the round include BKR Capital Relay Ventures and The Northpine Foundation.

Early stage firms:
1️⃣ Propel gets $2.9-million grant from the federal government (via the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency). The funds will enable Propel to run it’s accelerator until 2026.

2️⃣ Golden Ventures launches fundraising for its fifth fund to support seed stage companies across North America.
