Over the past few years, the landscape of EdTech investment has experienced a dramatic transformation. Once considered a niche category in the venture capital world, the sector's resilience and importance have become clear in the wake of the pandemic.

Take a quick look at the numbers: 
🤑 2019: EdTech startups drew a total funding of $5.4 billion.
📈 2020: A remarkable leap to $14 billion, showcasing nearly a threefold increase.
💥 2021: Setting a new record with an impressive $17.2 billion in funding. (source: PitchBook Data) 

However, as with many industries, the post-pandemic era presented its challenges. Last year, global EdTech funding tapered off, totaling just short of $9 billion. The trend seemed more pronounced in the first half of 2023, accumulating only $2.6 billion, a noticeable decrease compared to the $6.4 billion during the same period in the previous year.

Yet, even in the face of these fluctuations, the passion and commitment of top VCs has remained. These are the individuals who, despite the odds, continue to see the transformative potential of EdTech, backing startups that are set to redefine our understanding of learning.
