As Easter and spring arrive, new beginnings are in the air! 🌬️ And this is quite literally true with our portfolio company, Skyseed, who have been hard at work using drones that drop seed packets to reforest several hectares in Goslar and the Harz Mountains. Congratulations to the team for their recent feature with MDR MITTELDEUTSCHER RUNDFUNK, highlighting both the importance and innovation of their work as well as their fun drone names – for example, after Marvel characters like Iron Man 🤖
 
Skyseed uses semi-autonomous drones for precision-planting of specially designed seed pellets. This planting method protects seeds from predators and harsh conditions, and helps ensure a biodiverse, climate-resilient, and scaleable regeneration of degraded forests and soils. This means reforestation that is faster, more cost-effective, and yields a higher seed germination rate than conventional planting methods. Skyseed’s efforts help ensure sustainable CO2 storage, increased biodiversity, and liveable environments for future generations. 🌳🚁 Congratulations and well done to co-founders Dominik Wind, Ole Seidenberg, Simon Wind, and to the whole Skyseed team!
