For 2024, we see a series of trends poised to further develop and, in some cases, redefine the landscape and business operations as we’ve come to know them thus far. 💫

What do you do after an engaging discussion between one of  America's top companies and the Commercial Section of the U.S. Embassy Vienna - trade lapel pins, of course.  (Why is IBM's logo a bee 🐝 and what is a Rebus?  Read to the bottom to find out.)

We had the pleasure to speak with Marco Porak, Country Manager for IBM in Austria.  Our wide-ranging discussion focused on #AI, #Quantumcomputing (Marco is an IBM Sr. Quantum Ambassador) and technology commercialization in Austria.  Over the last few months I've heard separate stories of how Austria is an R&D dynamo, but a lot of that Intellectual Property (#IP) isn't commercialized in Austria.  I have some ideas as to how to help Austria with their IP commercialization utilizing U.S. partners which I shared with Marco and and developing plans for.  It also stems from an engaging discussion with 3VC's Peter L..  I'd be happy to discuss how we can bring the massive innovations from Austrian universities to market for the benefit of both of our countries.  Please reach out.

This collaboration between Storyblok and Lokalise aims to offer AI-powered localization and translation services to their users, which will be available on the website in order to localise information for users as a result of the agreement.

Petr Antropov, co-Founder of Lokalise, said, "It's fascinating to see the size of the gap between companies that offer their products and services in only one language (35% of the survey's participants), and, say, half of Lokalise's 3500 customers that run their offers in eight or more languages. Thanks to recent technological developments which made localisation no longer a challenge but an opportunity, that gap will not stay for long, and we're excited to play a part in the change."

Meanwhile, Barry D'Arcy, VP of partners at Storyblok, said, “Enterprises understand the value of translating their content, but many fail to prioritise it because the path forward appears to be unclear or overly complicated. Our partnership with Lokalise makes translation and localisation a natural part of content workflows. 2024 should be the year that more businesses finally take multilingual content experiences seriously.”
