Helicity Space Secures Investment from Lockheed Martin Ventures

Helicity Space, a commercial space company developing in-space propulsion and power technology based on fusion power, has announced an investment from Lockheed Martin Ventures, the venture capital arm of Lockheed Martin. This latest raise from Lockheed Martin Ventures comes on the heels of a $5 million seed round from investors including Airbus Ventures, TRE Ventures, Voyager Space Holdings, E2MC Space, Urania Ventures and Gaingels in December.

#HelicitySpace Co-Founder Stephane Lintner is also the CEO and Co-Founder of JIKO, the modern custodial bank built on U.S. Treasury Bills. 

Prior to his founding of Helicity and JIKO, Lintner worked as a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs’ Securities Division for almost a decade, leveraging technology and finding synergies to modernize the bank. He graduated from Caltech with a PhD in Applied and Computational Mathematics and holds a Master’s degree in Machine Learning and Computer Science from the Ecole Normale Superieure in France.

ThrustMe closes contract order with Centre National d'Études Spatiales CNES for several off-the-shelf propulsion systems 🚀

“ThrustMe was able to design, develop and produce a very innovative product that meets the needs of the market. All this in record time! CNES is a proud customer of ThrustMe, their Iodine electric propulsion systems are key to the future of European satellites,” said Philippe Baptiste, CNES Chairman and CEO.

This pioneering collaboration reflects a paradigm shift in the space industry, removing traditional boundaries between ‘old’ and ‘new’ space sectors. CNES, a longstanding player, is embracing a complete and reliable off-the-shelf propulsion system.

At the core of this groundbreaking contract is ThrustMe’s NPT30-I2, a miniaturized iodine electric propulsion system. This game-changing technology enables CNES to swiftly adapt to the dynamic demands of their projects.
