Mosaic was not the first Web browser, but it was the first to make a significant impact. Mosaic v 1.0, released in November 1993, distinguished itself from the existing browsers by including features such as icons, bookmarks, a more appealing interface, and pictures that made the software simple to use and appealing to "non-geeks."

Marc Andreessen was one of the key members of the team that developed #Mosaic. He played a crucial role in designing the browser's user interface, which made it easy for non-technical users to navigate the web. Andreessen later co-founded #Netscape, which developed a commercial version of the Mosaic browser. He became a prominent figure in the technology industry as a co-founder and general partner of venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz.

Despite having a flat share of deals, #female founders represent a bigger portion of the total #venture capital invested in Europe so far this year.

According to PitchBook Data, as of the end of February, about €1 $1.1 billion has been invested in 269 deals featuring businesses founded or cofounded by women. This accounts for 19.4% of all startup money invested in Europe and 24.4% of all deals.

While female-only founded #startups still get a small portion of total VC funding, their share is increasing. They represented 0.9% of all capital invested in 2022, but this year’s proportion has increased to 1.6%.
