Thrilled to have led the investment in Terminal (YC S23)’s seed round. Connor Giles and Raghav Midha are exceptional people and talented entrepreneurs. It’s been a true privilege to get to know them over the past year.
 
Terminal is Plaid for telematics data in commercial trucking. Their unified API commodifies the heavy lifting of accessing trucking data by integrated with hundreds of different devices and systems.  Companies building insurance products, financial services and software for trucking can use their unified API to access GPS data, speeding data and other vehicle stats.
 
Since launching in May, Terminal has onboarded customers across the US, Canada, Mexico, Israel, and the UK. These customers are now using Terminal's API to sync their telematics data across thousands of trucks and commercial fleets.

Last night, we hosted our sixth instalment of our Plated by Golden Ventures  Dinner Series.

We brought together the best and brightest Founders, CEOs, CMOs, and Senior Growth Leaders for a private dinner to discuss all things growth. The conversation was led by Meltem Kuran Berkowitz (Head of Growth at Deel), Praveen Arichandran (ex Tesla/Facebook) and moderated by Jack Chen (founder of SWIDIA).

Meltem reflected on her time at Deel (helping take it from $0 to $300m in ARR in just 3 years) and shared how early-stage startups should think about evolving growth strategies as their company matures.  

Praveen shared insights from his time Facebook (helping to build Internet.org) and how startups should not overlook referrals as a key catalyst to growth (he created one of successful referral programs ever at Tesla, so he would know!).

Data Scientist:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist to build out a machine learning tool to improve our inventory forecasting of flowers - a very perishable and seasonal product - so we have A) fewer stock-outs and B) less wastage. We are seeking someone who specializes in time series models, such as SARIMA and ARIMA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics and data analysis, with a focus on inventory forecasting. 
As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing advanced statistical models for forecasting inventory levels and identifying trends and patterns in our data. You will work closely with our operations and supply chain teams to ensure that our inventory levels are optimized for maximum efficiency and profitability. 
Key Responsibilities: 
● Building and testing statistical models and ML models for inventory forecasting (ARIMA, SARIMA, etc) 
● Analyze large and complex data sets to identify trends and patterns that can be used to improve inventory forecasting 
● Work closely with the operations and supply chain teams to ensure that inventory levels are optimized for maximum efficiency and profitability 
● Communicate complex findings and recommendations in a clear manner to stakeholders 
Qualifications: 
● Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field (e.g. statistics, data science, mathematics) 
● Strong background in statistics and data analysis, with a focus on time series models 
and inventory forecasting 
● Experience with programming languages such as R or Python 
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
This is ideally an interim contractor or PT position, approx. 20 hrs / week from January - April
