At Framework, we believe the time has come for products that are designed to last. Founded in San Francisco in 2019, our mission is to remake Consumer Electronics to respect people and the planet.

We've started with two award-winning products, the Framework Laptop 13 and 16. Our laptops are thin, light, high-performance notebooks that can be upgraded, customized, and repaired in ways that no other notebook can. Alongside this, we've launched the Framework Marketplace to enable an ecosystem of parts and modules. We've seen a fantastic reception to both of our laptops from customers and reviewers from outlets like Linus Tech Tips, Ars Technica, and multiple Wirecutter reviews (including a recommendation among the best Windows Ultrabooks of 2024), along with making TIME's Best Inventions lists in 2021 and 2023. As a company, we were #35 on Fast Company's Most Innovative Companies of 2022.

We’re excited to share that Framework Laptop 16 pre-orders are now open, with configurations powered by the latest AMD Ryzen™ CPUs and AMD Radeon™ GPUs.  This is truly a notebook like no other: thin and refined, while empowering you with desktop PC-level customization, repairability, and upgradability, including a fully reconfigurable input deck and modular discrete graphics.  

As always, we’re following a batch ordering system, with the first batches shipping in Q4 2023. Ordering is open now in all of our current countries: US, Canada, Germany, France, UK, Netherlands, Austria, Ireland, and Australia. A fully refundable $100 deposit is all you need to get in line. We recommend getting your order in early if you’d like to get a system this year. We’re sharing much more detail today to help you decide if this is your next (and maybe final?) laptop.

Alexandru has spent over a decade on Chrome OS at Google and prior to Google, he made significant contributions as a software engineer at Verily, further showcasing his expertise in firmware development. What’s more, Alexandru owns a Framework laptop, bringing valuable familiarity and insights into our product!

Our products are now available for shipment to Denmark, Finland, and Sweden! That includes the in-stock Framework Laptop 13 and Framework Laptop 16, pre-orders for the new Framework Laptop 13 with Intel Core Ultra Series 1 processors, as well as the modules in the Framework Marketplace.
 
With this launch, we're adding Danish and Swedish/Finnish keyboards that you can order now with a Framework Laptop 13 or as a standalone Keyboard or Input Cover Kit. For Framework Laptop 16, these keyboards will be available in late July this year. You can sign up for an email alert on the product page and we'll notify you when they are in stock.

We’re excited to share a preview of a Framework Laptop 13 Mainboard with a new CPU architecture today, and it’s probably not the one you think it is. The team at DeepComputing has built the first ever partner-developed Mainboard, and it uses a RISC-V processor! This is a huge milestone both for expanding the breadth of the Framework ecosystem and for making RISC-V more accessible than ever. We designed the Framework Laptop to enable deep flexibility and personalization, and now that extends all the way to processor architecture selection. DeepComputing is demoing an early prototype of this Mainboard in a Framework Laptop 13 at the RISC-V Summit Europe next week, and we’ll be sharing more as this program progresses.

Today we’re excited to announce the newest version of Framework Laptop 13 with the latest Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 1 processors, an optional 13.5” 2880x1920 120 Hz display on both Intel and AMD systems, a new webcam with 9.2MP image sensor, and configurations designed for businesses and professionals with a 3-year warranty. Pre-orders are open now, with shipments starting this August. These are available in all 14 countries we’re currently in, and we’ll be launching in Sweden, Finland, and Denmark this June. We’ve also permanently reduced the prices of our Framework Laptop 13 (AMD Ryzen 7040 Series) systems, making them more accessible than ever.

There are a number of competing visions for what the future of computing should be. Ours is one that is grounded in the belief that when we make a computer, it isn’t ours. It’s yours. We can’t wait to build this future with you.
