It operates through four segments: Advanced Intermediates, Specialty Additives, Consumer Protection, and Engineering Materials. The Advanced Intermediates segment provides advanced industrial intermediates, basic and fine chemicals, organometallics, and inorganic pigments for the agrochemical, automotive, construction, aromas and flavors, semiconductors and photovoltaic, and color pigments industries. The Specialty Additives segment offers additives, including lubricants, flame retardants, plasticizers, and bromine derivatives for various applications of rubber, plastic, paint, construction, and electrical industries. The Consumer Protection segment provides material protection products; disinfectant, hygiene, and preservative solutions; flavors and fragrances; and precursors and intermediates for the agrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, and specialty chemicals industries, as well as technologies for the treatment of water and other liquids. The Engineering Materials segment produces technical plastics, glass fibers, fiber composites, and elastomers on a urethane basis for application in the automotive and electrical/electronics, construction, and medicine industries, as well as sports and leisure sectors. The company was founded in 1863 and is headquartered in Cologne, Germany.

ISCC PLUS is a sustainability certification program for bio-based and circular (recycled) raw materials for all markets and sectors not regulated as transportation fuels under the European Renewable Energy Directive (EU RED) or Fuel Quality Directive (FQD), which are covered under the ISCC EU certification scheme. 

The aim of ISCC Plus is to offer a maximum of transparency for sustainability along the whole value chain. Under ISCC PLUS the following three raw material categories (arising at the beginning of the supply chain) can be certified: Bio, circular & renewable. 

In order to be designated "green", the sites' production facilities must obtain ISCC PLUS certification. This is already the case for all of the Flavors & Fragrances BU production sites in the Netherlands, Germany, India, Great Britain and the USA. This provides the basis for a green offer according to the mass balance procedure.

We are proud to share that we are set to exceed market expectations and previous year's performance with our Q2 2024 EBITDA pre exceptionals. Our preliminary figure stands at EUR 181 million, surpassing the average market expectation of EUR 137 million by an impressive 32% and outpacing last year's Q2 figure by 69%.

This remarkable achievement is driven by increased utilization rates and the successful implementation of our cost-saving program. While we faced challenges in the agro chemicals and construction industries, we saw slight increases in sales volumes in other customer sectors.

Looking ahead, we remain confident in our full-year guidance, anticipating a growth of 10-20% in EBITDA pre exceptionals compared to last year. For Q3 2024, we expect to maintain or exceed our Q2 performance.

Silvadur™ is a silver ion polymer technology for treating textiles to prevent odors. The polymer coating is applied evenly over the entire fiber surface and provides long-lasting antibacterial protection. It is applied to the textile fibers during textile production, for example by exhaustion or spraying. The silver-polymer technology is evenly distributed over the garment and can withstand up to 40 washes at high temperatures.
