Mühlbauer Holding AG engages in the production and personalization of smart cards, passports, and RFID solutions worldwide. The company develops and assembles customized production systems, as well as provides matching software solutions for the production process of document and solution related products. It also provides semiconductor related products, such as die sorting, carrier tapes, flip chips for LED, RFID/SMART labels, flexible solar technology, and multicomponent flexible electronic; vision inspection products, such as TEMA security inspection and TEMA industrial inspection equipment; and accessories, such as card measuring stations, UV-lamps, thread counters, color fans, tool trollies, and cardboard cartons for cards. In addition, the company offers emobility, flexible solar, and flexible electronics solutions; and government solutions, which include ID card, e-passport, driver's license and vehicle registration, document verification, border management, e-government, and production facility solutions. Further, it offers automation, marking, and traceability systems, as well as government and industry specific software solutions; and operates in the solar back-end industry. The company was founded in 1981 and is based in Roding, Germany.

As an independent partner Mühlbauer is already involved in more than 300 ID projects and supports numerous governments and public authorities worldwide in implementing innovative ID documents assuring full responsibility. As in-house developer and manufacturer of the complete range of hardware and software systems, the customer especially benefits from the solution provider´s technological and market know-how of more than 38 years ranging from the enrolment of personal data, also biometric data, and the production and personalization of custom-made ID documents such as ID cards and ePassports to fully automatic access controls. Other application areas of the Mühlbauer Group include production solutions for die sorting, RFID inlays, carrier tapes and flexible solar cells. The in-house precision parts manufacturing provides a stable basis.

The Mühlbauer business unit PARTS & SYSTEMS produces high-precision single components for safety-related sensitive branches like aerospace or medical technology. 

The business unit AUTOMATION develops, produces and distributes machines and automation solutions for the branches Semiconductor Backend, RFID/Smart Label, ID-Solutions and Solar. 

As system partner, the business unit TECURITY® offers comprehensive complete solutions for the Smart ID area - from the first concept to the final issuance and verification of the ID documents.
