Our discovery platform uniquely combines target quantum mapping and AI led chemistry to enable faster development of better drug candidates. Our unique approach tackles common challenges in both AI driven drug design and target driven drug discovery. 

Quantum Mapping of targets introduces selectivity from the start, producing superior candidates in fewer design rounds. Identifying better starting points for AI-led chemistry eliminates bottlenecks in the hit to candidate optimization phase. Generating better Enzyme Inhibitors by targeting Quantum Transition States. We work with enzyme inhibitors in a unique way, continually developing tools to address the challenges of working with machine learning and quantum simulations in drug discovery. This strategy significantly improves the quality of new drugs being produced, as well as reduces discovery time.

Our advisors and partners include leading academics and providers in the fields of quantum computing, AI and machine learning and drug discovery.  In addition to our in-house discovery programs, we are interested in drug discovery collaborations with pharmaceutical and biotech companies seeking new approaches to novel, first in class, best in class or next generation inhibitors for validated or intractable enzyme targets.

Kuano welcomes David Barrett a scientific advisory board member. 

David is a senior-level R&D leader and drug hunter in the biopharma industry. He has been President of Astellas Engineered Small Molecules US Inc. (formerly Mitobridge Inc.) and Astellas Engineered Small Molecules UK Ltd. (formerly Nanna Therapeutics Ltd.) since Spring 2022. 

Prior to this, he spent 32 years working in Japan as a medicinal chemist for Fujisawa, followed by Astellas Pharma, in various roles of increasing seniority, focussing on Infectious Disease and Oncology drug discovery, as well as research & project management and driving various globalization initiatives.

Kuano is delighted to welcome, Augustin Amour, to the company. Gus will collaborate as a consultant, supporting senior management in our enzymatic franchises. Gus has been with GSK for the past 24 years. There he led laboratory and project teams in R&D. With expertise in immunology and molecular pharmacology, particularly in enzyme inhibitors, he has contributed to over 50 publications and patents. Gus steers industry engagement with academia as the chair of the Biochemical Society's Industry Advisory Panel and advises the EU Openscreen consortium, underscoring his leadership in drug discovery and his commitment to biotechnological collaboration. Gus collaborating with Kuano returns to his roots in Cambridge where he undertook a post-doc after earning a PhD in Biochemistry in Paris

It is with great pleasure that we welcome Catherine Stace, Executive Vice President of Business Development, to Kuano.
Prior to Kuano, Cat was EVP Business Development for Domainex, during which the business more than doubled in size. Cat began her career establishing therapeutic platforms and discovery programmes for Isogenica and Bicycle Therapeutics, becoming inventor of core industrial technology and clinical candidates. Cat has also consulted for a variety of biotech and healthtech companies.
Cat has 18 years experience in the drug discovery industry, specialising in biotechnology platforms and commercialisation. She has held strategic technology and business development roles in biotechnology, consultancy and CRO organisations, covering small molecule therapeutics, peptides, healthtech and engineering.
