🙌🏽 The North East Link (NEL) project is going to change the way Melbourne moves. 👷🏽♀️ We’re really excited that Momentum, a consortium of John Holland , Seymour Whyte , Jacobs and Mott MacDonald has been named preferred proponent by the Victorian Government to deliver the next package of works. 🚘 Subject to a successful final tender, we’ll be delivering upgrades to 6km of the Eastern Freeway between Hoddle Street and Burke Road, with new traffic lanes and a new bridge over the Yarra. 🚧 Construction is scheduled to start next year. #JohnHollandTransformingLives

🛣️ When it comes to building the roads that connect our communities or help us travel through our growing capital cities, John Holland has the runs on the board - or should we say - the tyres on the bitumen to deliver smart, sustainable solutions. During the last 75 years we've delivered complex, city-shaping roads and major transport highways servicing regional communities that help the nation get safely to work or home or to visit loved ones. From underground motorways that minimise disruptions to streetscapes and provide new open public spaces like WestConnex in Sydney's Rozelle, to complex interchanges that reduce congestion and link destinations like EastLink in Melbourne, our road projects carry hundreds of thousands of vehicles every day. Our Edmonton to Gordonvale road upgrade in Far North Queensland has significantly improved safety and reduced congestion on one of Australia's major transport routes and at the same time, set new benchmarks for sustainability. Our M7-M12 Integration Project is an integral piece of the future development of Western Sydney which, once complete, will provide direct access to commercial and residential hubs and the new Western Sydney International Airport. And soon, we'll be starting work on the Torrens to Darlington Project in South Australia where we'll deliver twin three-lane tunnels and almost 80km of traffic light-free motorway to increase access to Adelaide's airport, CBD and western suburbs. In a key milestone for Inland Rail 's delivery of the freight rail line from Beveridge to Parkes by 2027, John Holland will deliver design and construction works for the next 39-kilometre section of the project between Illabo and Stockinbingal (I2S). The I2S project includes the construction of several bridges and level crossings, numerous culverts and a new crossing loop. We're proud to be part of another section of Inland Rail we we work to transform the network in regional NSW. Executive General Manager Rail and Transport Steve Butcher said it's an important piece of the Inland Rail project. "This project will create local jobs and leave a positive legacy in regional NSW. 🏗️ How's this for a progress report on our Sydney Metro West – Eastern Tunnelling Package where we are making our way under Sydney Harbour to link The Bays Station in Rozelle to the Sydney CBD! In Pyrmont, three roadheaders are currently excavating the cavern which will become a station on the Sydney Metro West line. The station cavern will be 170 metres long, 24 metres wide and 18 metres high! 🏥 Building the vertical expansion on top of a fully operational, live public hospital with an Emergency Department and Paediatrics wing? 👷🏽♂️ We can do that! In fact, our delivery of the complex Logan Hospital Expansion - Stage 1 has just won Project of the Year in the Master Builders Queensland Housing and Construction Awards. The win means the team now contends for top honours in the National Health Facility Award category at the Master Builders Australia National Excellence in Building and Construction Awards 2024. This project is a true example of our innovation in building health facilities, with standout initiatives such as: 🚧 the use of precast concrete columns to reduce vibration disruptions 🏗️ connection and use of spare capacity of existing cooling towers to minimise clinical disruptions 🔌 the integration of a new ICT network within the existing campus, all with minimal impact on the hospital's lifesaving services. Thanks to the collaboration and support from Queensland Health , Health Infrastructure Queensland and Metro South Hospital and Health Service and the John Holland project team who worked tirelessly to deliver this complex project, and also garnered individual recognition for Senior Project Manager Brett Popham as the Australian Institute of Building Awards Queensland Professional Excellence Winner in Commercial Construction $60M+. 🛶 If you're a safety manager in the construction industry, you don't often spend a day in an inflatable canoe - but that's exactly what our Project team delivering the Dam Improvement Project at Lake Macdonald in Southeast Queensland did recently. ⛑️Our on-site emergency response crew were put through their paces in water rescue training, which included using rescue tubes and floating lines, floating spine boards and hypothermia first aid kits. 🌊We've brought our capability in dam improvement works to the Lake Macdonald project - where we'll be building a new spillway and reconstructing the existing earth embankments. 💧The works will reduce the risks associated with extreme weather events and ensure the continued reliability of water supply to The Sunshine Coast region into the future. 🙌🏽 And it's good to know our response crew will be ready to ensure the safety of the team while we're delivering this important project! #NationalSafeWorkMonth #JustAddJohnHolland #JohnHollandWater #JohnHollandTransformingLives #ItsAJohnHollandJob
