🟧 MAJOR CONTRACT AWARDED Martinus has secured the Design & Construction (D&C) contract for the Sydney Metro Southwest Package 4, following a successful Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) phase that showcased our expertise in handling complex brownfield environments. This major project will convert 25km of the T3 Bankstown Line, including 15 overbridges and 76 non-bridge locations, into a world-class metro. We’re all about efficiency and are fully committed to delivering results, drawing on our expertise in project management, self-delivery, design and, of course, rail! With our experience in managing shutdowns and possessions, we’ll ensure that this upgrade happens with minimal disruption to the community while maintaining high-quality results. The T3, with over a century of service, will be transformed into a state-of-the-art, driverless metro, connecting Southwest Sydney to the CBD for faster, more reliable journeys. We’ll work closely with Sydney Metro and our partners to deliver enhanced safety, performance, and convenience for the community. Our overhead wiring team’s been hard at work in Parramatta, Sydney’s second CBD and hub of the NSW Government. Maintenance and adjustments to the overhead wires will facilitate the final stages of testing of the newly-constructed light rail network ahead of opening. #Martinus #ParramattaLightRail

Kashish 'Kash' Malhotra is one of our Construction Managers and a subject matter expert on the ins and outs of rail system projects. Kash joined Martinus five and a half years ago as a Site Engineer and has smashed every challenge we’ve thrown at him. With promotions to Project Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, and now Construction Manager. To support his career growth we had him complete a Certificate III in Rail Infrastructure. The panel focused on how technology can foster collaboration in the delivery of complex major projects. Technology is essential to Martinus’ horizontal organisational structure, empowering our teams on the ground to collaborate, develop solutions, and lead decision making on major projects. Shelley discussed the trend of Government clients engaging with principal contractors much earlier than in the past. This early collaboration is resulting in the design of tech stacks at the tender stage. These solutions are enabling the automated production of compliance and reporting data, allowing our teams to spend more time focused on project delivery. 🇺🇸 Last week, our Group COO, Ryan Baden , visited our North America division, checking in on key projects from culvert strengthening in Loring, Louisiana in the mid-south, to a 100-year-old bridge renewal in Alaska. As we continue to grow, we're taking on more critical infrastructure projects across the continent! #TheMartinusWay

As the principal contractor for the Stockinbingal to Parkes section of Inland Rail , Martinus is delivering critical upgrades, with the transformation at Wyndham Ave road bridge in Forbes being just one example of the complex brownfield work involved. This was one of four sites tackled during a 100-hour 'super possession', coordinated with months of planning and involving 240 rail experts. The track beneath the Wyndham Ave bridge required significant lowering to accommodate double-stacked freight trains. Our teams worked around the clock, removing 320m of track, excavating 7,000m3 of earth, and lowering the track by up to 2m. We also installed in-ground drainage, rebuilt the track formation with structural fill and capping, and laid 500 sleepers along with 1,000 tonnes of stone ballast. With the track reinstalled, tamped, and tested, the upgraded infrastructure is now ready for recommissioning!
