🚀 2023 marked a pivotal year for Apnaklub and me, witnessing substantial growth in gross margins (~2x) and toplines (700 CR+ ARR), resulting in operational break-even this December. Our strategic approach, which always emphasized low capex and operational excellence, eliminated the need for trade-offs between growth and sustainability.

Further, 2023 was about the joy of new learnings. We leveraged our deep understanding of non-metro geographies' consumer demands, pricing strategies, and distribution challenges to successfully launch our own brands in food and cleaning. These brands swiftly established themselves (10k+ retail store presence) without relying on traditional crutches like credit or leaky ATL branding expenditures. Excitingly, we are set to announce partnerships under our new offline expansion product with consumer brands shaping the future of Bharat's consumption, spanning confectionery, snacking, and personal care.

Amidst this excitement for the future, I'm also delighted to share a personal milestone. My spouse (Azeez Gupta) and I are expecting a child. In the coming weeks, I'll delve into the experience of being a pregnant CEO. It's been heartening for us to witness many founders, men and women, gracefully navigate parenthood. For me, this period has been remarkably productive, energizing, and trustful. My heartfelt thanks goes to our board (Anshu Prasher Rajan Anandan Ashish Fafadia Sameer Nath Harsh Gupta Deep Verma), investors and the incredible Apnaklub team (especially my cofounders Manish Kumar, Ashutosh Kumar, Gourav Das) for their unwavering support. They were amongst the first outside of my family to know about my pregnancy, displaying fantastic support, checking in on both my health and our plans for 2024 without doubting my ability to fulfill both roles.

Here's to a 2024 filled with learning, growth, and the joy of new beginnings!
