2. AI stack + autonomous driving. It's like a "big mowing Roomba that cuts the grass," Mondavi tells Forbes. Only this Roomba is a bit smarter... and helps reduce the amount of chemicals sprayed onto the soil. 🧪

Heat pumps are certainly having their moment – but as the Gradient pilot project with New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) shows, it doesn't have to be just for early adopters of technology, or those with extra income to spend on eco-friendly solutions. 

“We think that if you’re not building solutions for people who need it most, if you’re not building solutions for people who have insufficient heating (and) cooling today, they’re not really solving climate change,” Vince Romanin told the AP.

Gradient and Midea's heat pumps area ideal for older multi-family buildings with  window ACs or aged radiators that don’t have a temperature setting, the article notes.

And yes, it takes up some indoor space, but residents make the best of it: 

"Her three window units are usually topped by flowers and decorative candles. In one room on a particularly sunny day, morning light shone on a rose, a jar of rose petals, decorative boxes and a “LOVE” sign atop one of them."
