Interns from the Ayala Group Summer Internship Program (AGSIP) gathered for an enlightening TED Talk-inspired event focused on the importance of human skills in an age of automation, AI, and robotics. 

While automation and AI enhance efficiency, certain human skills remain irreplaceable. With this, three keynote speakers from across the Ayala Group shared their wisdom to the young minds who will soon be entering the workforce.

Tony Lambino, President of Ayala Foundation, Inc., shared insights into the power of imagination and how it allows us to envision possibilities beyond the current reality. Carissa Feria, Head of Strategy and Transformation at Ayala Land, Inc., highlighted the importance of curiosity--a crucial component of fostering empathy, innovation, and improvement. Meanwhile, Paolo F. Borromeo, President and CEO of Ayala Healthcare Holdings, Inc. (AC Health), spoke about emotional intelligence, which can be learned through understanding yourself and others, and embracing each individual's unique qualities.

The event was opened by Isabel Sagun, Ayala Land, Inc.'s Chief HR Officer, who welcomed the interns and partners from the different Ayala BUs.

AGSIP is an 8-week internship program that deploys interns to 20 different companies across the Ayala group. Each AGSIP intern will be deployed in critical functional units and will experience real-world missions, mentorship from seasoned professionals, and exposure to various aspects of the organization.

Ayala Corporation is set to increase its stake in Mynt, the parent company of GCash, the #1 finance super app and digital cashless ecosystem in the country.

Ayala’s proposed increased investment in Mynt is part of its initiative to reallocate capital to clear business winners. It also allows Ayala to benefit from GCash’s strong long-term growth potential.

Ayala Corporation’s mobility solutions platform, ACMobility, bolsters its footprint in the Philippines with the inauguration of the first BYD dealership in Mindanao. 

The new dealership, which sits on a 1,788 sqm lot, marks a pivotal step in ACMobility’s mission to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) nationwide by establishing BYD as the country's leading EV brand.

“Davaoeños embracing sustainable transport is a cornerstone of progress in the region. BYD’s inauguration of its new dealership in Davao marks a pivotal step in ACMobility’s broader vision for a sustainable future across the Philippines,” said Jaime Alfonso Zobel de Ayala, CEO of ACMobility.

Ayala Corporation and Ayala Land, Inc. have been named by Financial Times and data provider Statista as among the climate leaders in Asia-Pacific in their 2024 rankings. AC and ALI are among the only three Philippine companies that made the list.

In 2021, Ayala committed to achieving net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emission by 2050. Since then, Ayala has progressed along its climate ambition by developing a comprehensive GHG footprint that is consistent with the GHG Protocol to set the foundation for setting its science-based targets and develop its Net Zero Roadmap in full.

Ayala group's Integrated Micro-Electronics, Inc. (IMI Global), one of the largest EMS companies in the world, seeks to solidify top-tier stature. 

During the recent townhall, IMI CEO Louis Sylvester Hughes rallied employees from across its 20 manufacturing plants worldwide. 

“We shall continue to create products and services through our manufacturing solutions and expertise. Let’s carry on with our seamless transition into a simpler organization fully committed to our roles, responsibilities, and work efficiency,” said Hughes, who has a rich and extensive global C-suite experience in sales, engineering, sourcing and operations.   

IMI specializes in highly reliable and quality electronics for long product life cycle segments, such as automotive, industrial and power electronics, as well as the medical market. It has manufacturing plants in the Philippines, Bulgaria, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Serbia, and the United States.

Ayala group beefs up coast guard's research unit with computers

"The donation of these computers symbolizes our profound respect and unwavering support for your tireless efforts in patrolling our coasts, responding to emergencies, and protecting our maritime interests," said Francisco Romero Milán, Ayala's Chief Human Resources Officer. 

"We hope that this serves as a testament to our collective resolve to work hand in hand for the greater good," he added.

Since 2023, Ayala and Makati Development Corporation through the group's #SaludoSaSerbisyo program have turned over 100 computers to the Philippine Coast Guard, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, and Bureau of Fire Protection.
