Azolla Ventures invests in early-stage technology companies with the potential for gigaton-scale climate impact. Azolla Ventures was created by Prime Coalition, a nonprofit organization that partners with philanthropists and other mission-driven investors to support market-driven innovations designed to catalyze, deepen, or accelerate solutions for climate change. The management company of Azolla Ventures also manages the Prime Impact Fund portfolio of companies.

At the end of last year I shared a few insights on the state of methane removal including a teaser of an internal body of work from Azolla Ventures on opportunities and the solution space. 

Based on a year of digging in, I anticipated that there would be strong interest in the topic. What I didn’t anticipate was the massive influx of folks who wanted to dive deep on methane with me! This was amazing and pushed me to completely change what I was working on and had hoped to share (working doc in process!)

I’m excited to announce that Azolla Ventures is hosting a Methane Summit at SF Climate Week this year! We are so grateful to host this event inspired by some well known players in the space like Overview, Spark Climate Solutions, Astra Project and others who have been doing amazing work on methane mitigation and removal. 

This event is open to investors, entrepreneurs, policy makers, and anyone interested in tackling the global methane challenge. The location is TBD but more details will be live soon!

Last week, Azolla's Ryan D. Taylor had the incredible opportunity to join the panel at the SVB Catalyst 2045 Celebration of Black Excellence in Venture Capital. He was honored to discuss Azolla's unique approach to deploying capital in a challenging market, showcasing our strength and resilience in the face of adversity.

I am excited to be collaborating with SVB and their Catalyst 2045 program as they celebrate and honor Black History Month on February 27, 2024, in San Francisco, CA.
