A blurred line of boundaries with a co-worker, especially when it becomes a roadblock to getting your best and most impactful work done and done well. 

If you’re struggling to establish your space, here’s how. 

📣  Be specific and factual. Detail examples, and don't generalize. For example, "I noticed during the last meeting, I was interrupted four or five times. I'd like to have an opportunity to voice my ideas and feedback." 

📣  Affirm your expertise. Remind your co-workers that yes, you can do your job. Try: "In my last decade of experience, I've found this approach works best for maximum impact." 

📣  Express your feelings. Use "I" statements to express how they impact you. Like: "I feel ignored and dismissed when interrupted or when my ideas and feedback aren't taken into account." 

📣  Set a clear boundary. When necessary, draw a clear line in the sand. For example, "I appreciate your efforts to be proactive, but I think it's best if I focus on these tasks independently."
