Borregaard ASA develops, produces, and markets specialized biomaterials, biochemicals, and biofuels in Norway, rest of Europe, the United States, Asia, and internationally. It operates through three segments: BioSolutions, BioMaterials, and Fine Chemicals. The BioSolutions segment provides biopolymers for a range of applications, such as agrochemicals, batteries, industrial binders, and construction; and biovanillin for flavor and fragrance companies, as well as for food and beverage industry. The BioMaterials segment offers specialty cellulose for use as a raw material in the production of cellulose ethers, cellulose acetate, and other specialty products; and cellulose fibrils for industrial applications. The Fine Chemicals segment provides fine chemical intermediates for contrast agents; and bioethanol. Borregaard ASA was incorporated in 2012 and is headquartered in Sarpsborg, Norway.

Borregaard owns and operates the world's most advanced biorefinery. By using natural, sustainable raw materials, Borregaard produces advanced and environmentally friendly biochemicals, biomaterials and bioethanol that replace oil-based products. Borregaard also holds strong positions in additives and fine chemicals.

Borregaard has 1100 employees in factories and sales offices in 16 countries throughout Europe, the USA, Asia and Africa.

As our products have a wide range of applications, our business model is more adaptable to unforeseeable changes from climate and nature-related risks. Our products are also resilient to shifting market demands, which is steadily going towards more sustainable products.

Borregaard best at financial reporting! 
Today, for the fourth time, Borregaard received the Association for Finance's Stockman award 2023.

Borregaard has received an ‘A+’ score for excellent ESG reporting.
The ESG100 annual analysis examines the degree to which the corporate ESG reporting of the 100 largest listed companies in Sweden, Denmark and Norway (300 companies in total) provides valuable information for decision makers of both the financial and non-financial kind.

The ESG100 report presents an analysis and review of how prepared the 300 participating companies are for the introduction of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS).
