Defender Rally Series Triumphs in the Extreme Baja Morocco We’re proud to announce an outstanding result for our customers in the Defender Rally Series at Baja Morocco, where the production Defenders, prepared by Bowler, secured 1st and 2nd Place in both the Autos 4X4 Class and our Series Class. Dave Beecroft took 1st Place, with his brother Dan Beecroft finishing 2nd. Dave also placed 22nd overall and Dan 29th. Competing in a field of specialist racing vehicles, they delivered an exceptional performance for their first desert rally. They tackled over 1,200 km of demanding desert terrain in 42 degrees Celsius heat, along with a night stage, over 5 days. This was done immediately after our 4-day Desert Rally Masterclass to further prepare our experienced customers for the unique demands of desert racing. Despite fierce competition, punishing conditions and the grueling endurance race, which tested their skills as well as their physical and mental endurance, they returned safely and with amazing results. Calum McKechnie, General Manager of Bowler, commented, “It was a pleasure to witness the achievements of all our driver teams. This event tested their skills to the limit and created memories that will last a lifetime. Congratulations to the Beecroft brothers for an outstanding result in their first desert rally.” Dave Marsh, Head of Motorsport at Bowler, added, “The intensity of Baja Morocco was significantly higher than our customers have experienced before. We are excited and delighted with the news that Petter Solberg, 2003 FIA WRC Champion and 2x World Rallycross Champion, will be competing in the next round of the UK Championship of the Defender Rally Series, at the Clare Forestry Rally, Ireland. Taking place around Scariff in East Clare, this is the first time the Defender Rally Series will be competing in Ireland. Supported by Castrol EDGE, Solberg will be driving a Defender rally car, prepared by Bowler, bringing added excitement to the Series. This highly anticipated event, taking place on 5th October, offers over 70km of gravel stages which promise to deliver a thrilling experience for the driver teams and spectators.
