Headquartered in Helsinki, Business Finland is fully owned by the Finnish Government and employs 600 experts in 40 offices globally, as well as 20 regional offices around Finland. Business Finland is also part of the Team Finland network.

🇫🇮 Yesterday Finland voted for a new president on the second round of the election. In the tight race, the former PM Alexander Stubb, defeated MP Pekka Haavisto, by 51.6% to 48.4%.

"I'm very proud of the way we have conducted the elections here in Finland. It's been very constructive, very positive, and in many ways very respectful. It's been a victory I think for liberal democracy", stated Stubb after the results came in.

💡 In Finland, foreign policy is led by the President in co-operation with the Government.

💡 Alexander Stubb will start his presidency on 1st of March 2024.

Hello. This is Tianxiang Liu. I joined the Invest in Finland team in February 2020. I still feel I’m new and I keep learning strongholds of Finland. As Director, Greater China, Invest in Finland, I focus on all our focused industries: ICT & Digitalization, Bio & Circular Economy, Cleantech plus Health & Wellbeing.

I worked as an Electronic Engineer for many years and then worked mainly with customers to support design, develop new businesses and selling products. Before I joined Invest in Finland, I worked for a Finnish company for a long time. From a large company to a start-up, from an US company to a Finnish company, I experienced different working #cultures, and the experiences are very helpful for my current responsibilities.

Now, my only hobby is to spend time with my kids. That makes me feel joyful and it's my thing for relaxing. But there are other feelings as well, when I'm spending time with my teenager.

I’m very happy to work with my highly #professional colleagues around the world. Our expertise can always benefit our #customers. As the Head of Invest In Finland’s International Operations, I am the team leader for our Senior Investment Advisors around the globe.
 
Moved from the Southern part of Sweden to Stockholm at an early age. I got my Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management from Linköping Institute of Technology. Worked many years with international #leadership and sales, both in large enterprises and start-up companies. I had various global positions within Ericsson, spent many years in Asia including four fantastic years in Tokyo. While managing the Nordic sales for Orange Business Services, I experienced the Finnish business environment in a very positive way and saw huge potential.
 
Seven years ago, I started at Business Finland at the Stockholm office with the task of promoting Finland as an exciting business environment, attracting investments and helping Scandinavian companies set up their businesses in Finland. I met several hundred interesting companies and investors open to expanding their businesses abroad.
 
Today, in my current position, I work on a daily basis with companies, #cultures and colleagues from all over the globe. My fascination for international business started with my first job, which took me to Africa, Latin America and later on to Asia and Europe and the Nordic markets. With many years of experience in sales, internationalization and leadership, I have the privilege of helping foreign companies understand how the Finnish business environment can benefit their businesses.

What also fascinates me are the people I work with in Business Finland. Their business skills and experiences from various enterprises and cultures in countries all over the world. It’s a never-ending journey of #learning something new.
 
Why is Finland so interesting to foreign companies is not only because of the business environment but also because Finland is very sustainability-driven, has a great digitalization and innovation mindset, great expertise and unique industry ecosystems to tap into. Who knows, maybe Finland ranking as the happiest country in the world and people having a great deal of humor play a part as well.
 
I have travelled a lot, both in business and privately, and I still like to travel. There are so many interesting places to visit and people to meet. Spending time with family and friends, dinners, music, movies and sports makes life fantastic. I have had many hobbies and have done many sports over time. The most exciting is maybe scuba diving and the beautiful art of Aikido. Lately, it’s mainly golfing, skiing and bicycling.
 
My motto? Be curious and learn something new every day.
