In June, we hosted our annual Store Manager Conference in Toronto, bringing together over 40 managers from across our more than 70 retail locations worldwide.

For three action-packed days, store managers engaged in interactive sessions and workshops focused on product strategies, digital innovation, consumer insights, and more. They also had the opportunity to visit our factory, a highlight for many, where they experienced firsthand the craftsmanship, rich heritage, and relentless innovation behind each of our products.

It concluded with an awards dinner, celebrating the team’s passion and dedication to delivering Canadian Warmth every day.

In celebration of Pride Month, our Diversity and Inclusion Team hosted events throughout June to promote inclusion and education for all employees. We are committed to building environments where people can be their authentic selves year-round.

We were thrilled to welcome Victor Zhang from The 519 to lead a workshop for our employees. The dialogue focused on uplifting, empowering, and supporting 2SLGBTQ+ individuals in the workplace, and how to cultivate an inclusive environment where Two-Spirit, queer, and trans people can thrive.

To conclude our Pride festivities at Canada Goose, we hosted a vibrant Drag Brunch at our Toronto Headquarters with Tay BoBo, Virgo Queen, and Canada's Drag Race’s Luna Du Bois. Drag is a part of 2SLGBTQIA+ culture and celebrates diverse voices and different forms of gender expression within this community.

During the month of June, we celebrate National Indigenous History Month, recognizing and celebrating the unique heritage, diverse cultures, and significant contributions of Indigenous peoples. While many Indigenous groups share some commonalities, they each have their own distinct heritage, language, cultural practices, and spiritual beliefs.

Our Diversity & Inclusion team is dedicated to empowering all employees through education, awareness, and cultural understanding. Part of that cultural understanding is learning about the cultural practices of Indigenous peoples and their significance. 

We were delighted to host Katie Longboat, originally from Six Nations of the Grand River, at our Toronto Headquarters to lead a beading workshop. Beading is a cultural art form deeply valued by Indigenous communities. This tradition, passed down through generations, serves as a means of preserving and conveying cultural knowledge, while also promoting wellness and fostering community.

In recognition of Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, we were pleased to host Rumeet Billan, Ph.D., who facilitated an impactful session for our global employees yesterday.
 
A dedicated entrepreneur, speaker, author and humanitarian, Dr. Billan is known for her dedication to enhancing workplace cultures. Her mission is to cultivate trust, belonging and resilience through research, training and experience.
 
During the session, she shared invaluable insights and solutions to address Tall Poppy Syndrome, where ambitious individuals face criticism as a result their achievements – a phenomenon that disproportionately impacts women in the workplace. 
 
Here’s how to combat Tall Poppy Syndrome:
 
1.  Begin by raising awareness.
2.  Hold people accountable.
3.  Set a standard of transparency.
4.  Adopt zero tolerance.
5.  Invest in training for all employees and celebrate wins.
