HotMaxx, a leading discount grocery retailer in China, has just launched its first three stores in Hong Kong, a first step outside of Mainland China where it now operates about 1000 stores. As one of the earliest backers of the company when it started in 2020, Dayone Capital 日初资本 is also very excited about the new leg of the journey especially in a highly concentrated retail market like HK's. Price inflation and shrinkflation has eaten into customers' wallets and we strongly believe that HotMaxx's discount branded grocery products offering is a right step towards giving more options to local shoppers. Establishing in Hong Kong is a strategic first step for the company as it eyes more expansion opportunities outside of Mainland China.
