🧱Energy Vault is stacking the building blocks for a more sustainable future. (Pun intended.) 

❗The Swiss Based Company has found #SouthAfrica partners for their unique block based energy systems. 

🏗️Energy Vault recovers electricity through cranes and blocks to store energy. The process raises blocks to and harnesses their potential when lowered. 

👏Within the 16-state Southern African Development Community (SADC) region, they expect to deliver multiple gigawatt-hours of energy storage.

🧱Block-based systems can be built widely. The Swiss city of Ticino has built a 35MWh storage system consisting of 110m-high cranes stacking 35-ton blocks of concrete. 

🎉This is good news as South Africa continues to navigate through a fair share of grid issues. SADC says only 50 percent of residents have access to electricity.

As California bids farewell to its century-long reliance on fossil fuels, the state's transition to #CleanEnergy gains momentum. According to a recent Reuters's article: California and Big Oil are splitting after century-long affair. 

This pivotal move not only underscores the state's commitment to combating climate change but also showcases its role as a trailblazer in adopting sustainable energy solutions.

"This is a green transition," said Daniel Kammen, a professor of Energy at the University of California, Berkeley, who argues oil firms need to move to clean energy and away from fossil fuels. "There is a pathway for these companies. But if they chose otherwise, they are dinosaurs."
