#InTheNews: The Healthy Nevada Project, spearheaded by Joseph Grzymski, is casting a transformative light on the genetic risk stratification associated with breast cancer. Partnering with Helix's Alexandre Bolze, this seminal study analyzed the genetic data of over 25,000 women, employing the capabilities of Helix's Exome+ assay, to uncover that individuals with a lower genetic risk of breast cancer may be able to safely postpone mammogram screenings, beyond the usual recommended age. 

Discovering your low-risk status through genetics can not only streamline healthcare resource utilization but also substantially ease the anxiety often linked with regular cancer screenings. Luo says Helix’s data shows the benefits of COVID-19 vaccines are the greatest among older populations and that future vaccine campaigns might be more targeted to that age group.
