🌲 Metric trees are such a straightforward and powerful concept that simplifies pretty much every step in the analytics supply chain:
the events we collect,
extract and load planning,
model architecture and building,
and how, when, and where we monitor each metric.

The beautiful thing about it is that it helps focus on what matters most — business impact -- and provides a simple and robust framework for optimizing each metric, and eventually the top of the tree—aka KPIs.

Mixpanel has been preaching it with their Measurement Framework. But it’s great to see the likes of Abhi Sivasailam, Trevor Fox, and Ergest Xheblati really taking it to the next level 🙌
