BOLD portfolio companies have access to L'Oréal top expert. One such expert is Ana Kljuic, a geneticist by training with 20 years’ experience at the Group. As Vice President Research & Innovation (R&I) L’Oréal for the Future & Green Sciences, Ana and her team play a key role in advancing the Group’s sustainability agenda. 
 
Her department develops strategies to help reach L’Oréal’s sustainability objectives for 2030, as defined by the L’Oréal for the Future program. Among others, this includes achieving a commitment of having 95% of the Group’s ingredients in formulas being biobased, derived from abundant minerals or circular processes.
 
Reaching this ambitious objective requires innovative new ingredients, and that’s where Green Sciences comes in. Through a dedicated research program, the Group’s experts explore new ways of sourcing and transforming raw materials into cosmetic ingredients. From looking at sustainable agricultural practices to innovations in the fields of biotechnology and green chemistry, the Group aims to create eco-designed cosmetics and offer consumers new beauty experiences.
 
“In addition to achieving our 2030 objectives, part of what my team and I do is identifying the stakes linked to our resources and climate change,” Ana explains. “What are the challenges that we are facing linked to what the environmental science is telling us? How do we manage challenges such as water scarcity? And how can we further rethink the way we source our ingredients in the future?’

BOLD portfolio company VLGE has launched an immersive experience with NYX Professional Makeup. What better campaign to join than the recently launched Duck Plump – which made a splash with its #SuperBowlAds starring rapper Cardi B – bringing the quirkiness and beauty of NYX’s lip gloss to life. 

In partnership with VLGE, NYX has brought an immersive-fun-plumped-up world to the NYX Professional Makeup website. In this online adventure, users can explore Duck Plump Land, play virtual games, win prizes and receive product recommendations. 
 
The collaboration is just one of the latest from VLGE. The metaverse-as-a-service startup has worked with brands like Lancôme and L’Oréal Paris to launch immersive, online worlds that offer consumers new ways of imagining their beauty routine.
