With only one application, Dr. Bhatia observed closure using EPIEFFECT® as a protective barrier as part of the treatment protocol to support the healing cascade and to aid in the development of granulation tissue. Dr. Bhatia chose EPIEFFECT for this post-Mohs dorsal hand defect with an exposed tendon. This allowed Dr. Bhatia to abstain from splinting the patient’s hand. This obviated the need for physical therapy after closure. Human placental allografts provide an advanced alternative for patients who are not ideal candidates for traditional methods of reconstruction post-Mohs surgery.
