Given that we ALL have to wear clothes, we should all be able to find and buy clothes that fit not just our body, but also our style, our budget, and our values. Nearly 40% of clothes bought online are returned, and while that sounds like a shocking error rate, it's only the tip of the iceberg. Absolutely loved seeing the gorgeous Amy Abrams Amy Grant and Prabina Adhikari as the lead story (and image) on Mamamia sharing their personal experiences and frustrations to provide some colour behind "why is finding clothes to fit so hard?"!

New York Fashion Week kicks off TODAY, and while most will be watching the runways to see the latest trends, our team will be eagerly watching (and hoping) to see more representation and diversity. Earlier this year, Vogue Business published a study on size-inclusivity at AW24, classifying looks as straight size (0-4), mid-size (6-12) and plus size (14+). Their study showed that a dismal 0.8% of looks at New York Fashion Week were plus size. Compare that to our data that suggests that more than HALF of American Women are in this category. We all know that fashion is not representative. In fact, in research we conducted in 2022 we found that 81% of Australian women didn't feel represented by fashion advertising. Today we've released Mys Tyler Insights, starting with data on Australian women in an effort to provide a new resource for the industry and to keep representation, diversity and inclusion at the top of the agenda. You might find this data surprising, because it is NOT what we see when we visit a shopping centre, turn on the TV, open a magazine, or scroll our social feeds. In an effort to make their platform more inclusive in regards to body diversity, Pinterest will be testing a new tool that will allow users to filter women's fashion and wedding searches by different body types. We're so excited to see Pinterest taking this initiative! Here at Mys Tyler , we know the value of seeing body-relevant and body-diverse fashion inspiration. In a study we conducted last year, we found that 78% of women feel more relevant, better about their bodies, and/or inspired to try new styles when they see women who look similar to them in the fashion industry. But, 81% of women don’t don’t feel represented by fashion advertising. On our app, after users complete a body quiz with their body measurements, our fit algorithm matches them to like-bodied Fashion Contributors around the world for body-relevant fashion inspiration, ultimately creating a more personalized, relevant, and empowering shopping experience.
